Dear Sir,

YOUR recent reader's letter about the Majorcan Tourist Board tackling the airlines over reduced winter flights to the island is spot on. In Ireland both North and South there are no direct scheduled airline flights from late October until Easter. This totally hinders the weekend city break or winter holiday plans of thousands of potential visitors no matter what PR the Balearics promote.

Also there are many Majorcan second home owners in Ireland who suffer with 2 flights each way instead of one. Majorca is beautiful in all seasons so lets make it more accessible and help the jobs crisis on the island.

Dear Sir

I entirely agree with your comments regarding the need to expose UK benefit cheats. I have therefore forwarded no less than 464 names for the authorities to check out. It should be very easy as they can all be found at one address- House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA.

Yours truly,

John Rule, Sol de Mallorca
