...for the UK's Crown Prosecution Service's (CPS) decision not to charge the identified Metropolitan Police officer who struck Ian TomIinson to the ground in the City of London in April 2009. Tomlinson died and two of three post mortems found the cause was internal bleeding; a third said he suffered a heart attack. The CPS said that the heart attack post-mortem would provide a jury with reasonable doubt about the police officer's guilt. But is it right for the CPS to reach a conclusion in this way without letting the evidence be tested in court?
