Dear Editor IF winter tourism is to succeed in Majorca, the authorities must come down heavily & quickly on the landowners who are illegally preventing access to the rights of way in all parts of the island.

I have been coming to the north of the island in winter for over ten years now and I have seen paths that appear on all maps fenced off & padlocked.
The local authority's response is: “We are trying to negotiate with the landowner”.
Can you get the tourism people to put pressure on these people, otherwise I believe walkers will choose to go where they are being given proper consideration. Phil Francis
