Although coach Capello had the usual quote of injury absences to deal with he once again gave the impression of tactical rigidity and inadequate improvisation. It is said that his contract makes him too costly to dispense with but unless he can produce some reasonable results fairly soon the question will arise of whether England can afford to keep him.
