...to the trade unions who have called a coach driver´s strike and a hotel worker´s strike during the peak summer months. With the Spanish economy in severe recession, record unemployment and Majorca facing serious competition from other holiday destinations, now is not the time for industial action. Tourism is a key industry for the Balearics and it needs to be protected otherwise the recession could become even more pronounced. Call off the strikes please.
