I have been visiting this beautiful island for around 40 years, mostly in the summertime.
For the past two years I have been here for New Year with family and friends. The celebrations are so much more chilled and trouble free than in the UK.

But what truly amazes me is that Santa Ponsa, such a lovely, lively resort in the summer months is dead in the winter. Why?
It is such a wasted opportunity, particularly in these difficult economic times ......because we Brits ....and our German cousins too, I suspect...would love to escape for some winter sun in December, January and February.

So why don't some enterprising hoteliers open up for the Christmas and New Year festivities...and take the opportunity to make some money in the winter season.

We are staying at the delightful Hotel Golf Santa Ponsa...one of the few hotels open at this time of year....and booked in June so we could be assured of accommodation for New Year...it is so popular!! Congratulation on your 50th Anniversary, I never miss a copy of your great paper when I'm on the Island and may your success continue for another 50.
