AT last some good news on the tourism front! Last weekend we launched a new service for our online readers who holiday on the island. They send us the dates of their stay and we email them all the what´s on information for that period. Well, I am pleased to say that the service has been a big success which clearly underlines the fact that there are still plenty of people in Britain who just love this island and all that it has to offer.
Yesterday, I conducted a small survey and I came to the conclusion that the majority of people taking advantage of our online service have already booked their holiday and will be staying in the Pollensa and Alcudia areas, so it appears that the early bookers go north. We decided to launch this service for two reasons. There are plenty of events happening on this island which sometimes holidaymakers simply do not hear about. Secondly, I feel that the island this year needs all the help it can get and you never know it may even act as an incentive to get people booking. I am pleased to report that we´ve had plenty of petitions for information regarding what is happening this week in Palma and the San Sebastian festivities. So we are spreading the word hopefully it may help towards a better season.
