WELL, they think its all over, it is now!! England are out of the World Cup after being outplayed by an average German side. Full marks to the Germans for a good overall performance and England go home in disgrace again. There are no excuses as the Spanish TV commentator pointed out it was like men and boys. What concerns me is that England are unable to perform in any major Cup competitions and bar 1966 it is always the same old story.
This time it was worse than usual, with two draws, one 1-0 win, and a defeat. Not exactly a good report card for a side who went to the World Cup as one of the favourites. Now, already their excuses are being made. It is a long season, there is no Christmas break. But let us remember that many of the players who are still at the World Cup play in England and they don´t appear to have the same problems. What is a disgrace is that many of the England players fail to show the same form for their country as they do for their clubs. Why? I believe that it is far better to take a group of average players who give 110 percent than a selection of alleged World class players who give just 60 percent. So for England the World Cup is over, and the team will have a nice sun tan by the time the final takes place.
