...FOR Prince William and Kate whose visit to Canada has been an unqualified success (counting some opposition in French Quebec as providing a little welcome balance). At first sight it seemed the testing itinerary might be too tough for a Duchess only a few months into her new role but Kate has shown a natural gift for appropriate informality as well as for the more difficult Royal gestures. The days in Hollywood may get more publicity but the Canadian tour is what mattered for the monarchy.
