...FOR Britain's Big Six” energy suppliers which are all facing multimillion fines for poor customer service after British Gas, the largest, was ordered by the regulator Ofgem to pay 2.5 million pounds for failing to follow-up on complaints that had often been marked as “resolved” when no action had been taken. Ofgem said the failures had been “systemic”. Ofgen's announcement came as Centrica, which owns British Gas, reported pre-tax profits of 1.1 billion pounds in the past six months.
