Dear Dorothy, I take the Majorca Daily Bulletin every day that it is published and look forward to your gardening section. I have moved from the U.K to permanently live here in Majorca and wish to develop a nice garden, so your tips are very welcome.

Please can you tell me why my lemon tree discards most of its flower buds at various stages of growth?
Some do produce very scented flowers but these too drop off after the petals have fallen. I have hoed around it to loosen the soil to allow water penetration, out to the extent of the branches.

What am I doing wrong?
