Dear Sir, Whilst the private sector are pulling out all the stops to promote Majorcan / Spanish tourism, property sales and the nautical sector why do so many politicians seem to have an irresistible urge to reach for the self destruct button?

In the current economic climate Majorca and Spain need to pursue all revenue streams - superyacht marinas, 5 star hotels, golf, family hotels, all inclusive hotels for young families eager to place a cap on the cost of providing an endless stream of drinks, ice cream and snacks for the kids, private accommodation for those who wish the freedom to choose when and where to eat, Magalluf and booze cruises.

Mutual tolerance, moderation and respect are the keywords.
Residents and visitors who expect a peaceful holiday in Magalluf in August have been mis-sold their holidays or property.
Anyone suggesting the pursuance of one sector eg the emerging Russian market or hotel sector at the expense of other sub-sectors is either living in cloud cuckoo land or is a spokesperson for a vested interest group.

With many charter boats having already fled to Croatia and Sardinia and tourists easily diverted elsewhere following widespread stories of rip-offs, crime and anti British rhetoric does Majorca have a prosperous future???

How about all hands to the wheel and pushing in the same direction.
