Overall decline in road deaths

Dear Sir, THE statistics of deaths and injuries due to traffic accidents that you published on Sunday were very interesting, especially as they show a fall in deaths on Majorca compared with ten years ago. Presumably there are more cars on the roads now so the fall is all the more worth noting. Although one death is too many, the decline is welcome and the road safety authorities, the police and drivers themselves should be praised for this outcome. l Letters to the Editor should be accompanied by a name, address and telephone number.
