...for President Obama who ended 2010 in a much stronger position than had seemed likely only two months ago after the poor results achieved by the Democrats in the mid-term elections. In a few days before the Christmas break the President was able to push through several Bills which added to his earlier legislative success with health care refoms. When the newly-elected Congress returns in the New Year Mr Obama will face only one year before campaigning begins for the 2012 Presidential election.
