A spokesperson for the Balearic government said last night that the left-wing coalition is not in any form of crisis over the water issue which has blown up this week and that the the best solution must be sought in order to resolve the water problem. The differences of opinion over how to plug the problems have been sparked by the Minister for the Environment, Margalida Roselló, who wants to hike water prices and not expand production at the desalination plant. She has been criticised for her proposals by other members of the left-wing coalition government. Baleatric Chief Minister Francesc Antich said last night that the “only problem is the lack of water” and that all possible solutions must be considered and studied.
