The Guardia Civil have stepped up their investigation in the rape of two British women on holiday in the popular holiday resort of Magalluf and two experts from the Guardia Civil Central Operations Unit are flying to Majorca to join the hunt for the two suspects. The 47-year-old British mother and her 23-year-old daughter were raped in the early hours of Saturday morning just metres away from their hotel. the Guardia Civil has been carrying out an exhaustive investigation for the suspects who are thought to be Spanish. The double rape has caused a great deal of concern in the local community and there have been calls for the rapists to be swiftly arrested. The Guardia Civil also wants a swift end to the investigation and wants to wrap up the case within the next few days. The two experts from Madrid will be running over all the details and evidence to date and an electronic image is to be built up of the two suspects for widespread distribution. The use of the robotic system to create an electronic photo-fit is only the second time to have been used in the Balearics. Earlier this year the system was used to build an image of the man suspected of brutally murdering British woman Ivonne O'Brien at her Alcudia home last year.
