A PACK of dogs attacked a flock of sheep, killing 70 and injuring 30, which will have to be put down because of the danger of rabies.
The attack occurred on the Son Barceló farm in Algaida.
Shepherd Llorenç Bauça, who has been tending the flock for 14 years, said it is not the first time the dogs have attacked - a month ago, he lost nine sheep. He added that he did not know how the dogs had entered the pen whichwas surrounded by a two-metre fence. He had been due to sell 70 lambs on Wednesday and says the attack has cost him 4'200 euros. A member of the Natura Park reserve visited the farm to inspect the damage.
