THE Spanish section of the environmental group WWF/Adena has included the Palma city council in its list of prize-winning cities for a policy of responsible purchase of wood. WWF/Adena has recognised the efforts of the council to protect forests and threatened species by not buying wood or wood products from illegal sawmills. A council spokesman expressed their satisfaction, and said that they would continue with their policy.
