Tumi Bestard, the United States consular agent in the Balearics, will be the object of a joint tribute by the United States Embassy in Spain and the Balearic Government, to be held in the middle of September.
It is expected that this joint tribute will be attended by hundreds of personalities and friends of Tumi, who wish to praise his work as head of the consular agency for decades.
During this tribute it is expected that the person who will succeed his in his job will be presented.
Tumi Bestard has been Consular Agent for more than 40 years and during that time he has received in Majorca Bill Clinton, George Bush Sr and Jimmy Carter.
He was the first person to hold the consular post without having been born in the United States.
