THE Palma municipal water board EMAYA last night issued a warning to all of its clients about two impostors who are masquerading as EMAYA water inspectors and trying to convince people to pay their bills in cash, on their door steps.
EMAYA has received a number of complaints , two yesterday morning, and the police have been alerted and are investigating.
SUSPICIOUS
Last night, EMAYA advised all of its clients to immediately report any suspicious behavior by dialing 900724000 and underlined that under no circumstances are water bills to be paid to visiting water inspectors. It's not the company's practice to collect bills from people at their homes,
Water bills can only be paid by cash at the Joan Maragall EMAYA head offices or via bank transfers, EMAYA said in a statement.
