Drug addict in critical condition after brutal beating in Sa Pobla

GUARDIA Civil and Local Police in Sa Pobla are looking into a brutal assault which has left a known local drug addict in a critical condition in hospital, sources close to the investigation confirmed yesterday.

The same sources said that the attack happened last Tuesday about 11pm in Plaza Metge Duet in Sa Pobla, in front of the old people's home.
Neighbours alerted Emergency services to the presence of a man lying motionless on the ground, bleeding from the head. Ambulance crews and police were quick to attend the heavily built 28-year-old Moroccan. Initial assessments by the Guardia Civil suggest that the vicious attack, which may have been at the vicitim's home in Calle Isaac Peral before he staggered outside, was a “settling of scores.”
