Parking at Lluc monastery now costs 4 euros

As of Monday, parking at Lluc monastery will cost drivers 4 euros, a spokesman for the Diocese has confirmed.
Defending the charges, a spokesman said that the measure is part of a wider scheme which aims to improve the quality of facilities for visitors. The public interest in the cultural, religious and historic heritage of the monastery has meant that over the years, need has arisen to respond to the demands of the visitor community. The Diocese wants to collect funds to cover the cost of services at the monastery such as the Lluc museum (currently free of charge) and the botanical garden.
