Mayhem during first days of tax return campaign

The “easy tax return” facilities which were first provided by the Balearic government at branch Inland Revenue offices seven years ago will not be available in the large municipalities this year such as Palma, Manacor, Llucmajor, Marratxi, Calvia and Inca. Everyone making a tax declaration for 2011 is therefore having to queue patiently at the Inland Revenue head offices in Ciudad de Querétaro in Palma but within just a few days of the tax return period starting, contributors are complaining bitterly about unacceptably long delays. Staff at the offices have been increased to 25 to cope with 1'500 declarations a day.
