Palma. Three boats were gutted by fire in S'Estanyol yacht club yesterday while two others were also damaged by the blaze.
Majorca fire brigade sources said that the fire broke out on one of the gutted vessels at 12.20pm and the flames quickly spread to neighbouring yachts, the longest being eight metres. Fire fighters from Lluchmajor and Felanitx rushed to the scene and had to wear breathing equipment because of the thick toxic smoke which complicated extinguishing the fire.
