The number of cases of companies going into receivership in the Balearics during the second quarter of this year was 20% less than in the first quarter, said the General Board of Judiciary yesterday, adding that the number of evictions had also lowered, by 9.3%.

The figures were revealed yesterday as part of a more wide-ranging survey on the impact of the crisis on Legal Administration. The report showed that the number of lawsuits taken out for job dismissal in the Balearics reached 709 during the second quarter, an annual increase of 11.65%. In the second quarter, 901 evictions were applied for in the Balearics of which 839 were granted.
