UNEASE continued to grow amongst fishermen in the Port of Soller yesterday regarding the reform of the port installations, which, they claim, fails to provide them with adequate space to tend to their vessels and stock, and store their equipment.

The fishermen claim that even after years of government “promises” there has been no definite solution provided to how much space will be allocated to them once the restructuring is complete. A spokesman said that although it is recognised that local authorities want to provide more space for public use on the muelle de Marinería (fisherman's wharf), they need to know just how much working space will be left to them. The fishermen feel it is time for the Town Council to “lend them a hand.”
