Palma.—This week's mild day time temperatures are 5ºC higher than the norm for this time of year, according to the Balearic met. office.
However, night time temperatures are 5ºC lower than normal.
Last Sunday, temperatures reached a maximum of 23ºC in Son Servera, 22ºC in Sa Pobla and 20ºC in Palma.
But, with clear skies, over night, temperatures are falling to as low as 1ºC.
But, beware, as of today the weather is going to gradually start taking a turn for the worse.
Maria Jose Geurrero, head of the Balearic met. office, warned yesterday that an anticyclone is going to start making its way across the Balearics from this evening leading to a gradual drop in temperatures. ‘Flu
Come Sunday, some showers, something we have hardly not seen for months across the region, can be expected and maximum temperatures will be around 10ºC lower than last Sunday so be warned and be prepared.

Medical sources said yesterday that these sudden and sharp swings in the weather create the perfect environment for catching ‘flu and colds and urged the public to make sure they dress accordingly and keep warm.
