Palma.—Travelling on the 100-year-old plus Soller train is one of the top 100 Spanish experiences according to the travel guide Essential Spain published by the prestigious magazine Monocle.

The magazine's primary target market is the United Kingdom and has been published by the Spanish Tourist Board, Turespaña's office in London as part of a new publicity campaign to promote Spain as a whole. This latest edition of the magazine features what Turespaña consider are the 100 best and unique holiday experiences in Spain and highlights not only the fact that the Soller train has been running since 1912 and that it carries an average of 700'000 passengers per year, but also the cultural and historic experience enjoyed by catching the train to Soller and then the tram down to the port.
