THE 37-year-old Moroccan arrested on Saturday evening under the suspicion of having stabbed his pregnant wife in Sa Pobla was yesterday ordered to be remanded in custody after he appeared before a preliminary hearing in Inca.
The 32-year-old victim was yesterday recovering from her injuries in Inca Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery on Saturday night.
Medical sources said that she was making a good recovery and that none of her vital organs were damaged.
The suspect will face a charge of attempted homicide.
The court heard yesterday how he apparently stabbed his wife, who was two months pregnant, seven times.
Neighbours have told police that the couple had a fierce argument on Saturday and sources close to the investigation have revealed that the argument may have been caused by the victim wanting a separation. She has apparently been having an affair.
