PALMA Local Police have arrested two individuals in connection with two robberies carried out on the same day at a house belonging to a jeweler in El Molinar on the outskirts of Palma.

The robberies were carried out on Sunday afternoon and evening.
The owner of the property is currently in hospital waiting to be operated on and the two men, both aged in their 30's, carried out the first robbery at 6pm.

They apparently gained access to the property by smashing one of the terrace windows on the balcony. Inside, the robbers found 69 top brand watches as well as a small selection of valuable jewelry and 242 euros in cash. A neighbour, however, heard noises in the apartment and witnessed the two men breaking in through the window. He was able to provide police with a good description of both men and the car they were driving. Police were put on alert to keep an eye out for the suspects and the vehicle but then, just two hours later, the thieves returned to the apartment, this time accompanied by a third individual with the safe apparently being the target. However, they failed to move the safe and on leaving the property, one of the three broke his leg.

They were all later found and arrested on the Son Banya shanty town.
