A 70-YEAR-OLD German woman was violently attacked at her home in the Port of Andratx in the early hours of yesterday morning by three men thought to be from Eastern Europe.

The attack happened between 2am and 3am when the victim was woken by noises in the three storey building in which she lives on the ground floor.
The two properties above are currently empty and the noises made the elderly woman suspicious.
However, when she opened her front door to investigate what was going on, she was apparently struck in the face with a baseball bat.
The three men then stormed into the house and continued to beat her with the bat and also cover her in some kind of spray. The three men then began searching the property for valuables.

The trio did not spend long inside the property but the victim did not report the incident until later yesterday morning because she was in a deep state of shock and also suffering from multiple injuries, in particular to her face.

As soon as the Local Police were informed, three patrols rushed to the scene and opened a full investigation which is expected to be handed over to the Guardia Civil to follow up.

Yesterday, Local Police and Guardia Civil patrols were searching the area while forensics dusted the property for any finger prints and evidence as to who the police are dealing with and looking for. Police sources said yesterday that the three men are clearly extremely violent and warned the public in the area to be extra vigilant.
