CENTRAL Government has been approached by regional Transport Minister, Gabriel Vicens, with a request that the impending airport co-management programme be applied to all Balearic airports, and not just Palma.

Until now, Spanish airports have been controlled by the Spanish National Airports Authority (AENA), a Central Government body but plans are afoot to allow the major airports of Spain to enter into a system of co-management whereby the regional authorities and private enterprise would have a say in the running of the airport.
