PALMA
A multiple car crash caused long tail backs for over an hour on the Palma to Inca motorway yesterday.
The accident, said by Guardia Civil traffic police sources to have been caused by the wet conditions, happened just after 12.15pm near the motorway exit to Binissalem.

A full accident investigation was underway last night, but police sources said that it appeared one of the three vehicles involved crossed the central reservation and was involved in a head-on collision with a vehicle heading in the direction of Palma.

One of the drivers involved suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Son Dureta Hospital in Palma.
A second driver escaped with minor injuries and was admitted to a Palma clinic while a 48-year-old male passenger had to be cut free from the wreckage of one of the vehicles.

Some of his fingers were also amputated.
