PALMA
THE two contenders to lead Spain's next Government, Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and Mariano Rajoy, are both arriving in the Balearics during the next fortnight.

Zapatero will address a meeting of the PSOE in Palma on February 26 alongside the President of the Balearics, Francesc Antich, and the Secretary General of the Socialist Party of the Balearic Islands (PSIB), Antoni Garcías.

Meanwhile, Mariano Rajoy, the leader of the PP, has moved his planned rally from Palma to Inca. Rajoy will address supporters in the municipal sports stadium on February 20.

The PP were informed that the Palma Arena would not be available as a quarter-final match in the Champions League of Volleyball was scheduled for the next day. The Socialist-dominated Balearic Government responded to criticism from the PP by announcing through the Ministry for Sport that a supervisor from the European Confederation of Volleyball had to visit the arena to view facilities that day.

Maria Salom, a PP candidate for Congress, said the party had opted to move the meeting to Inca because it had the second biggest arena on the Islands.
