STAFF at the health centre in El Terreno have spoken out about their fears in view of the increase in physical and verbal aggression over recent months. The last attack occurred last week, when a foreign patient injured a member of the clerical staff.
The centre in Calle Joan Miro, was opened in October 2000 for Terreno pensioners, but now it caters for all age groups in Terreno. It is staffed by a clerk, a nurse and a doctor. They say that there is no emergency exit, and the premises are insufficient for the number of patients they have to see. The centre is due to be moved to the building which now houses the library when the new social centre is built on the site of what used to be the San Luis Gonzuaga school.
