THE average temperature in Palma has increased by six degrees this week and the good weather is set to continue into the weekend, the Palma Met Office said yesterday.

However, the Met Offide did admit yesterday that February was proving to be “unseasonally cold” and despite the increase this week they were still below the average for the same period last year.

In Palma the average registered temperature on Sunday was 13.6 degrees rising to 17.5 on Tuesday, 18.6 on Wednesday and then 19 degrees yesterday.
The Palma Met Office said yesterday that temperatures would remain stable over the weekend and forecast more clear skies.
The Met Office has said that this winter has been one of the coldest on record with large amounts of snow falling in January and February. Some parts of the island have been severely battered by freak weather including the Port of Andratx, where repair work after the winter is still underway.
