Palma.—The Calvia council has given the green light to plans to change the General Planning Law and and make a sizeable plot next to the motorway in Palmanova building land.

At present the land on the Ses Planes estate is classified as “rural.” However, following a council meeting this week it could soon become building land. The council said that it could become a large commercial centre.

The socialist opposition party slammed the move saying that it was just another example of the council change the planning laws to encourage yet more development.
