PALMA
THE three hundred students at the Balearic International College have raised 3'000 euros for the victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.
Not only did the reports and unimaginable pictures and footage of the destruction move the pupils and teachers in to taking action, the school also has one Japanese family who has relatives living not far from the nuclear power station which exploded and is continuing to leak radiation.

NO UNIFORM DAY
To raise the funds, the school held a a “no uniform day” and students made a donation for being able to leave their uniforms at home for the day.
On average, the students donated nearly 10 euros each and the first total raised was a grand 2'850 euros.
However, yesterday, a kindhearted parent made a special donation of 150 euros to take the final total up to 3'000 euros.
The funds raised are going to be sent to the Red Cross.
