THE Balearic Port Authority has fined three yachts as much as 6'000 euros for dropping anchor in restricted areas in the Port of Ibiza.
The Guardia Civil removed the two foreign and one Spanish-registered yachts from the prohibited area and towed them into Ibiza Port where they were met by Port Authority inspectors.

The two foreign yachts escaped with a 3'000 euro fine each for “swift payment” but the Spanish yacht was fined the full 6'000 euros and the Port Authority was still awaiting payment yesterday.

The Port Authority has warned that the mooring laws across the Balearics will be strictly enforced this summer.
