One lane of Andratx road to open as interim bypass

Staff Reporter TWO months after potentially dangerous subsidence closed the Andratx to Estellencs road on its way into the Tramuntana mountains, a single traffic lane is shortly to open at the site of the landfall offering a temporary route until the works are complete.

The measure will bring relief to residents and businesses in both Estellencs and Banyalbufar who were all but cut off from the rest of the world after the subsidence.

Complex surveys were required before the Council of Majorca gave the go ahead for reconstruction of the road which began on 22nd March.
