STAFF REPORTER THE Passeig de Born in Palma will be hosting the city's 28th book fair from 28th May to 6th June this year, Francesc Moll, the regional President of the Guild of Booksellers said yesterday.

The event always arouses great interest in the literature lining the book stands set up in open marquees down the terraced area of the Born but Moll said that there won't be many changes from last year's presentation. The Born has yet again been considered as a central point which is accommodating enough for both sellers and browsers. Teacher and journalist, Margalida Capella will be giving an opening speech at the book fair on 28th May, providing an overview of the latest publications and what other activities, including those for children, will be available at the event.

Emphasis this year will be on writers from the Balearics and less on those from other parts of Spain or foreign countries, “a knock-on effect of the crisis”, said Moll. “It's going to be quite a modest fair,” said Moll but added that nothing that was available last year will be missing this time round.
