SA Pobla was yesterday given six new local police officers to beef up the police station's numbers.
At present there are 19 police officers working at the Sa Pobla Local Police station, and these extra officers are very much needed, said the Police Sergeant, Pere Perelló. Four of these new officers will be dedicated to local police work, whereas the remaining two will be responsible for policing tourism resorts in the area.
Pere Perelló said that the area still needs more police officers, as in the next few months three local police officers will be retiring, thus creating three empty spots. Many towns and villages on the island have also recently been granted more police officers.
