BLACK and White was the theme for Age Concern's fundraising dinner and dance held at the Club Nautico Yacht Club in Ca'n Pastilla.
Guests took advantage of a balmy evening and congregated on the terrace overlooking the sea before the buffet supper was served.
Black & White balloons decorated the room and tables, and the theme continued by all guests wearing the prescribed dress code.
The entertainment was provided by Whiskers, an excellent duo who performed a varied programme of songs for everyone, ensuring that the dance floor was filled all night it seemed that all the guests had brought their dancing shoes!
A whale of a time was had by all until the wee small hours of the morning.
The raffle was drawn after dinner. The winners of the dinner for two at Son Amar very generously offered their prize for auction. Watch the Daily Bulletin for names of the main prizewinners. Ronel Boshoff, President of Age Concern Majorca, announced our new project, namely a Retirement Centre with sheltered accommodation and nursing home facilities for older people. This exciting new venture is still very young and will develop in stages.
Ronel stressed the need for older people to be allowed to retain their dignity and to feel secure and happy in their environment.
She finished by reiterating that these are early days and a great deal of fundraising and lobbying will be necessary to achieve the goal.
