STAFF REPORTER THE Balearic University (UIB) unveiled its European Education programme yesterday offering a choice of 27 subjects, two of which - Economics and Business Studies - can be undertaken in English.

The UIB's new rector, Montserrat Casas said yesterday that the final part of these degree courses would entail a stay at a foreign university where studies would be entirely in English. The move comes as the UIB adheres to the Bologna Process, an education initiative which aims to create a European higher education area by making academic degree standards and quality assurance standards more comparable and compatible throughout Europe.
