PALMA City Council announced yesterday that it is to hold a special council debate on the state of the Majorcan capital later this month.
The Mayor of Palma, Catalina Cirer, said yesterday that the debate will be held on June 20 and is to start at 10am.
She will start proceedings with a report on the work her Partido Popular council has carried out in the city.
Once Cirer has finished, opposition councillors will have their chance to address the council chamber.
The debate will continue on June 21 with a special council meeting being held at mid-day at which councillors will be encouraged to put forward their solutions to any of the city's main problems highlighted during the previous day's debate.
Cirer can expect a heated debate.
The council has taken a number of hugely unpopular decisions over the past few years and Cirer will be taken to task over the council's urban development plan in particular.
