Palma.At going to press last night, the couple suspected of being responsible for the death of eight-year-old girl Ainhoa were still being quizzed in a Palma court.
During the day, family, friends and defenders of children's' rights held a minute's silence in Palma and Andratx.
The eight-year-old died on Sunday apparently as a result of head wounds sustained while staying with her 29-year-old mother and her 28-year-old partner in the early hours of Saturday morning. The young victim normally lives with her grandparents in Andratx but was spending a few days with her mother in Coll d'en Rebassa. It was the doctors who first suspected physical abuse.
