THE Guardia Civil is trying to locate the owner of a vehicle which was found wrecked and upside down in the central reservation of the motorway near Palma airport yesterday morning.
The traffic police received a call in the early hours reporting a suspected accident but, when Guardia Civil traffic police reached the scene, they found a seriously damaged Seat Leon but no sign of life. The vehicle was empty.
The wreck was eventually towed away while the Guardia Civil opened an investigation to identify and locate the owner of the car. Police are not ruling out the vehicle may have been stolen and they are also concerned that someone may have been injured.
