Palma.—The National Police have this week dismantled a gang which was operating in Palma and were accused of stealing at least 34 bicycles, several laptops, a printer, digital cameras, a modem, mobile phones and other personal objects.

The authorities managed to track the criminals down, three men and two under aged girls, after tracking down one of the suspects, accused of selling at least 20 bicycles presumably stolen from cycling shops, to an illegal apartment near Parc de las Estaciones where the group resided and served as a trading spot.

Dirty work

Police reported a constant influx of bikes coming in and out of the apartment used by the gang (a -38-year old German citizen, and 18-year-old American, a 20-year-old Spanish and two minors) who often used children to do their dirty work.

During the operation police recovered not only several bicycles and other items but also two abandoned little girls, who were thought to have been missing and are now in the possession of the social services while police mount an investigation into their situation.
