Palma.—The Socialist Party on Calvia Council has proposed that Punta Ballena in Magalluf be closed to traffic at night.
Both this summer and last Summer, holiday makers were knocked down as they partied along the strip and Socialist councillor, Alfonso Rodriguez, wants to see the strip closed to traffic at night during the peak of the season.

Despite this week's presentation of extra police and manpower, the Socialists have also called on the Council to listen to the local business community, tourist sector and residents with regards to tackling other problems such as waste in the resort, especially around the popular night spots. “If we can all work together, we can improve the resort's image and that will benefit business and residents alike,” Rodriguez said yesterday.
