News Desk A LOCAL Majorcan wine by the José Luis Ferrer bodega was awarded a silver medal at the fifth Moscatel World Competition held in the French region of Languedoc-Rousillon. The comptition was held from 13 to 15 July and 24 countries presented a total of 293 wines, which was 13 percent more than last year. Spain won eight medals for its wines (two gold and six silver). The gold awards went to the Catalan wine cellar Miquel Torres for Moscatal Oro and the Palafox Group from Aragon for Moscatel Pasa. Silver medals went to Veritas Dolç by José Luis Ferrer in Majorca, Bodegas Ontañón in La Rioja, Baronia de Turis in Valencia and Bodegas Murviedro also in Valencia among others.
